Joe Grimes
The Emerald Team continued their support of Roqu Group and the HSE on Saturday morning with further assistance on a Charter arrival in Shannon containing precious PPE equipment for the Frontline staff.
As most know logistics never runs smoothly and Saturday morning was no different, as the Team approached Shannon airport communication came in to advise the Pilot was having trouble landing due to heavy fog, discussions were underway to divert to Dublin airport.
It just so happened that the international pilot was from Cork and had plans to visit his family upon landing, with great skill and determination an attempt to land was successful, much to the delight to all involved.
The aircraft was carrying a special PPE donation by Irelands own Conor McGregor, once off-loaded the donation was delivered to the Matter Hospital, a big thanks must go out to Conor as the Matter has been at the forefront of the pandemic, his donation will continue to keep the staff safe as they continue to turn up to work on a daily basis to help save lives.
On this occasion I took the trip to Shannon to see the operation in full flow, I was so impressed by the team and especially Joe Grimes who controlled the complete split of all cargo once off-loaded from the aircraft, ensuring the correct orders were loaded onto the correct trucks and delivered to the correct Hospitals, Joe is a long servant of Emerald Freight Express and has an abundance of skills, his can do attitude and personal presence ensured we proved a seamless service.
